My Favorite Catholic Podcasts: Part 1
Hey friends,
I am on a podcast kick recently. I've been listening to A LOT of Catholic podcasts, so I decided to share my favorite ones with you guys. Project Siena is not affiliated with any of these podcasts, I'm just sharing them cause I like them :)
So first I want to talk about the Catholic Talk Show. I really love this podcast! I've had the privilege of meeting and going to confession with Fr. Pagano at a youth conference and I got to meet Ryan DellaCrosse at the National Eucharistic Congress last year! The podcast discusses happenings in the Church as well as traditions, dogmas, and fun Catholic topics. It's insightful as well as really funny. Check out their podcast on the link above!
Next is a series of podcasts I'm sure you have all heard of: The Bible in a Year Podcast, The Catechism in a Year Podcast, and The Rosary in a Year Podcast. Each of these podcasts breaks down their subjects into smaller portions, reads through, and explains them over the course of a year. It takes some dedication and habit building to make it through the entire year but I would definitely recommend starting it and picking up where you left off if you've missed a few days.
Another Podcast I really enjoy is the Abiding Together Podcast! This one will probably be better appreciated by the female audience but guys can listen too! Sr. Miriam James Heidland, Heather Khym, and Michelle Benzinger get together and discuss various topics that help cultivate a relationship between Jesus and His daughter. I really enjoy listening to this Podcast.
The Lila Rose Show is a super epic podcast for anyone who is looking for a Catholic perspective on the topics of today. Lila Rose discusses family, the pro-life position, and various other relevant topics. I would totally recommend this podcast to not only Catholics, but anyone, as Lila goes in depth on a lot of topics that explore the morals of modesty, life, the family, and much more!
For anyone wishing to learn more about Catholic Apologetics, my favorite apologetics podcasts are The Counsel of Trent, Shameless Popery, or really any of the Catholic Answers Podcasts. All of these podcasts give in depth answers on common questions about the Church. They're all quite witty and funny as well!
If you like debates, good advice, and funny conversations, I would encourage you to check out Pints with Aquinas. The host, Matt Fradd, holds conversations and debates with a lot of big names in the Catholic community. His episodes are engaging, educating, insightful, and hilarious, I always get a good laugh and learn a lot when I listen to it. I would encourage viewer discretion as a few of these episodes have heavier content and I believe some may be explicit.
If you're looking for a bite-sized daily dose of reflection on scripture, In the Heart of the Word, by the Servants of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary would be the Podcast for you. Each episode dives into a reflection on the readings of the daily mass in just a few minutes.
Another podcast that I would recommend to any teen is the Lust is Boring podcast. Jason Evert gives a new look on how chastity is truly a beautiful virtue that can be attained by all of us. Be sure to also check out Jason's blog, the Chastity Project.
Finally, if you want to start making a habit of spiritual reading but are having a hard time, try out the Podcast Catholic Classics. Each season, they break into a new Spiritual Classic, reading a little bit every day and breaking down the contents.
Well folks, that's all for now! I hope you find an enjoyable podcast on here!!
See you in the Eucharist,
May
Thanks for sharing! I've been getting into podcasts more recently, and would love to check these out!
