Hello friends!! Welcome to another Mission Field survey! Today our questions are "Who is your favorite Saint, and why?" and "What is your favorite Catholic devotion?" Enjoy!!


Who is your favorite Saint, and why?

"Joan of Arc, she did as the Lord asked without any complaints, she was called to save France, and she did, she persisted and persisted, and through blood sweat, and tears she did,"


"St. Monica because of her faithfulness in times of sadness"


"St Dominic. Because of his devotion to Our Lady and the rosary and his zeal in combatting the albegensian heresy and establishing the Dominican Order."


"St. Joseph. I was born on his feast day and he was very close to Jesus and Mary"


"St. Joseph, because he can teach me how to be a true man and father"


"St. Therese of Lisieux, because she's my Confirmation saint and her story is such a beautiful one, and St. John the Apostle, because he's Jesus' beloved disciple and his Gospel is my favorite!"


"St. Joseph, he's my confirmation saint."


"St. Claire because she is very (Epic) for grabbing the monstrance and a great role model for women"


"Hmmm, that's hard... Maybe St. Magnus or St. Camillus de Lellis? They both inspire me a lot."


"St Gianna Molla. Because she was a great advocate for the Pro-Life movement and as I get more involved in the movement I want to help children and care for them like she did when she was alive."


"I have too many but my top are St. Rose of Lima, St. Peregrine, St. Joseph, and St. Augustine. I think that all of them are just very relatable and have been able to guide me in my life so far."


"One of my favorite saints, it’s really hard to choose I don’t know, would be St. Tarcisius the boy martyr. He sacrificed his life for the Eucharist at such a young age. And even after he was killed, nobody could open his hand that had the Host inside it! He’s just such an inspiring saint to me, being that he was so young."

"I like the Novena of the nine months of Mary’s pregnancy with Jesus! I do not remember exactly what it’s called but it’s beautiful! I did it once and I plan on doing it again! "

Hey Friends!!  Our Lady of Fatima in her apparitions asked us to pray the Rosary every single day. Well that can be a little hard can't it? How are we supposed to fit such a seemingly long prayer into our every day lives? Well, it seems hard, but it all depends on how much we are willing to commit. Thomas More: A Saint for Today

Born in 1478, Saint Thomas More was a lawyer, statesman, and the Lord Chancellor of England, among a few other titles. Thomas was also a father and husband. Thomas was good friends with the king of England, Henry VIII, who eventually had him killed. During his reign, Henry tried to divorce his wife, Catherine, who was barren. He intended to marry Anne Bolyen. To do this, Henry separated from Rome and declared himself Holy Roman Emperor.  When Henry sought Thomas’s opinion on this separation, Thomas remained silent. But Thomas's silence spoke volumes. By remaining silent he asserted his allegiance to the Catholic Church, and to the State, but not to the actions of the King.  His silence, while eventually resulting in his martyrdom, provides an example for Catholics living in a post Christian culture.  Thomas was a lawyer and statesman during the reign of King Henry VIII. Christ in the Old Testament

Throughout the Old Testament there are very many foreshadowing and prophecies of Jesus Christ. The prophets paint a picture of what the coming Messiah might look like. The Psalms foreshadow His life and personality. These aren’t the only things that tell us about Christ however. There were people described in the Old Testament that were “types” of Christ. To say that someone is a type of someone else means that their lives had parallels and similarities. Some examples of types of Christ found in the Old Testament are: Adam, Isaac, Joseph, Moses, David, Solomon, Jonah, Job. The first type of Christ found in the Bible is Adam. We can see a parallel between Adam and Jesus in the gardens. In the garden of Eden, Adam disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit. Adam did not trust that God was in control and knew what was best for him, instead Adam thought that God was trying to keep him from being as powerful as Himself.
